Police Impersonator Solicits Money From Glenview Resident

Also featured in this week's blotter: a Glenview man was charged with burglary for an incident that occurred last December.

The following reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.

Suspicious Incident

On May 13, a Glenview resident reported receiving a phone call from a man who said his name was “David Hauschild," a Glenview police officer, and solicited money to help disabled children, according to police. The resident realized the call may be a scam and hung up, police say.

Burglary

On May 15, Igor Vargun, 20, of Glenview, was charged with residential burglary for an incident that occurred on Dec. 23, 2012 on the 300 block of Elm Street, according to police.

On May 19, the manager of a business on the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported a burglary at their store, according to police. On May 18, about $2,800 in cash were taken from a safe, though it's unclear how the safe was opened, police say.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

On May 18, an unlocked vehicle on the 1200 block of Spruce Street was burglarized and a laptop worth about $1,200.00 was taken, according to police. 

Obstructing a Peace Officer

On May 18, Robert Olah, 22, of Northfield, was charged with obstructing a peace officer, according to police. Additional details of the arrest were not provided.

DUI

On May 19, Igor Shatovskiy, 44, Glenview, was arrested on the 2300 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and speeding, according to police.
