Police: Prostitution Reported at Motel 6

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department:

Prostitution Reported at Motel 6
Terrence Butterfield, manager for the Motel 6, 1535 Milwaukee Ave., reported to police that he believed two women were committing prostitution in their hotel room at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, according to police.

The women rented the room at 12 p.m, and several men came in and out over the next two hours, according to Butterfield. He asked police officers to stand by while he offered to reimburse the women for their room and asked them to leave.

When police arrived, however, the women were not in their room.

Woman Steals $1,200 in Merchandise From Target
After finding several empty security packages in an aisle, an employee of Target, 2241 Willow Rd., reviewed security footage and discovered that a woman had stolen $1,200 in merchandise between 8:59 and 10:22 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, according to police. She was described as a white woman between the ages of 25 and 35 years old with a thin build and blonde hair, according to police. She was seen leaving the parking lot in a purple colored SUV, police said.

Catalytic Converters Stolen at GBS, on East Lake
An employee of Glenbrook South reported that someone stole the catalytic converter from a school vehicle while it was parked in the lot overnight Wednesday, Dec. 11, according to police. The estimated loss is $1,000, police said.

Someone stole a catalytic converter from a vehicle while it was parked in a lot in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, according to police. The estimated loss is $800.

Possible Scammers Want to Talk Medicare
A resident of the 1300 block of Swainwood Drive reported a series of suspicious incidents with a woman who claimed to work for Medicare, according to police.

She came to his home the first time on Dec. 5, and said she wanted to talk about upcoming changes to Medicare. The man made an appointment for her to come back on Dec. 11, and she left in a black SUV.

The man told a family member about the appointment, and the family member told him that changes to Medicare could not be made after Dec. 7. When the woman returned with a second woman on Dec. 11, the resident asked them to leave.

Purse Stolen from Shopping Cart at Jewel
A woman reported that her purse was stolen from her shopping cart at the Jewel-Osco store at 2502 Waukegan Road on Tuesdya, Dec. 10, according to police. She told police she left it in her cart for five minutes, and when she returned, it was gone. and when she returned five minutes later, the purse was gone. The estimated loss is more than $900.

Wallet Stolen at Children's Museum
A woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was at Kohl Children's Museum, 2100 Patriot Blvd., on Wednesday, Dec. 11, according to police. She was paged to the front desk to retrieve her purse, where she discovered her wallet and its contents were missing. The purse had been found in the women's restroom across from the service desk, according to police. The estimated loss is $100.

Cell Phone Swiped from Eco Gym
A man reported that his cell phone was stolen while he was at Eco Gym, 2847 Pfingsten Rd., between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, according to police.

Valley Lo Trespassers Given a Warning
An employee of Valley Lo Towers, 2020 Chestnut Ave., reported that a man and his son had been in the lobby in the morning and afternoon for the past few months, according to police. The man said they were waiting for his son's school bus, but they do not live in the building, according to police. When the employee told the Valley Lo Towers Board, they said did not want the man in the building. Police found the man and gave him a trespass warning.
