Police: Wilmette Homicide Victim Died of Gunshot Wound

The 20-year-old Highland Park resident who was found dead in Wilmette on Monday died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to police.

Colin Nutter, a 20-year-old Highland Park resident who was found dead in bushes on Frontage Road in Wilmette on Monday, died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to the Highland Park Police Department.

The Wilmette and Highland Park Police Departments are asking for the public’s help in locating the vehicle Nutter was driving the night of the homicide. The car is a navy blue 2002 Dodge Stratus. The Illinois Registration number is R 696 833 and the last four numbers of the VIN are 1578. 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this vehicle is asked to call the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force at 847-853-7850 or the Wilmette Police Department at 847-256-1200.

Nutter's body was found by a 16-year-old dog walker near the intersection of Old Glenview Rd. and Briar Dr. on Monday night. Nutter's body was identified through his fingerprints.
