Report of People Pointing Guns in Back Yard Draws Police

Disorderly Conduct

A resident reported two people pointing guns in a back yard of a home in the 800 block of Meadowlark Lane on Feb. 28.  Responding officers spoke to a person who turned over two pellet pistols and said their friends looked at them on the back deck.  Officers warned the resident about discharging air guns and seized the pellet guns to return them to their owner who had left town for the weekend.

On 03/02/2014 A complainant reported getting into a driving dispute with an older male at Harlem Avenue and Dewes Street on March 2. Both got out of their vehicles and the older man kicked the other person in the leg. The person kicked the man back and the two got into a brief pushing match. The older man entered his vehicle and left the scene eastbound on Dewes Street. 

DUI

On March 2 at 1:45 a.m. Oscar Rodriguez, 23, of Chicago, was arrested in the 1700 block of Waukegan Rd. and charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, Drving Under the Influence, Possess a Suspended Driver’s License, Drving with a Suspended Driver’s License, Driving to Fast for Conditions, Improper Lane Usage, and Driving in Wrong Lane. He was held pending transport to bond court.

Theft

A victim reported an unknown offender stole their debit card and cash from a wallet they left in a shopping cart at a business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road on Feb. 27. The estimated loss is $30.00.

Suspicious Incident

A resident of the 3800 block of Cindy Ln. received a call Feb. 24 from a female claiming she worked for an insurance company and wanted to discuss changes in Medicare. The caller said she planned to visit the home two days later but never arrived. 

Criminal Defacement

A complainant reported graffiti spray painted on a Union Pacific railway control box at 3600 West Lake Avenue on Feb. 28.
