Resident Blames Cleaning Company for $82K in Missing Jewelry

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Burglary

On Feb. 5 a resident in the 2100 block of Phillips Dr. reported that someone entered their unlocked vehicle overnight while it was parked in their driveway. Several items in the vehicle were moved but nothing was taken.

On Feb. 5 at 12:30 p.m., employee for a business in the 2200 block of Willow Rd. reported two females stole a pair of shoes from the store. When the employee confronted them, they drove off.  The estimated loss is $32.00.

A resident reported that between Jan. 16 and Feb. 3, someone stole $82,000 worth of jewelry from their home. They had a cleaning company at their home during this time and they suspect someone from the cleaning company of the theft.

Criminal Damage to Property

An employee for a construction contractor reported two of their vehicles used for work at the train bridge in the 2700 block of Shermer Rd. had some of the windows smashed out sometime between Feb. 3 and 7 while they were parked at the site. The estimated damage is $3,000.00.

Recovered Stolen Property

On Feb. 8 a resident in the 4100 block of Cove Ln. reported they recovered their stolen vehicle from the City of Chicago Auto Pound after receiving a phone call informing them of its location.  They had previously reported the auto stolen.

Theft

An employee working at a home in the 800 block of Lenox Rd. hired a cleaning lady who spent the day on Feb 7 cleaning the home. After the woman left the employee could not find two rings they kept in their purse. The estimated loss is over $6,000.
