Roof Fire Extinguished In Under 10 Minutes

The fire on Iroquois Drive started after an overheating attic fan caused wood shingles to ignite.

A Wednesday night fire on Iroquois Drive was extinguished in about six minutes, according to Glenview fire chief Wayne Globerger.

The fire department was called to the 2300 block of Iroquois after a home's attic fan overheated, causing wood, roof shingles to ignite.

Globerger added that the recent heat wave has not caused an increase in fire department or ambulance calls in Glenview, though more calls could start coming in this weekend or after a few more days of heat.
