"I find life in the fire service so ironic," Kimura shared in his retirement letter. "It seemed like it took forever before I was vested with seven years on the job; then it seemed like an eternity waiting for 20 years on the job; and then, at the speed of light, people are asking me, when are you leaving – you have more than 31 years on the job... I have been truly blessed to have worked with each of you who really make this organization such a great place."
