Temporary Fire Station Planned at Glenview Road and Roosevelt Avenue

Residents are concerned about the noise, lights and traffic that the proposed fire station would bring.

A temporary fire station, which would operate for about 18 months, has been planned at the corner of Glenview Road and Roosevelt Avenue but nearby residents say they are concerned about the new noise, lights and traffic the station could bring, Chicago Tribune reported.

Glenview Fire Department must move out of its current location at 1815 Glenview Road to make way for a four-story development along Glenview Road and need a temporary station before a permanent station is built at 1215 Waukegan Ave.; while consolidating stations was possible, it would have added four to six minutes to response times for parts of the village, according to Fire Chief Wayne Globerger, Chicago Tribune reported.
