Police: Car Stolen in Broad Daylight
Also featured: Police say a cut telephone and generator wire near a Glenview home is a sign of an attempted burglary.
The following reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department . A criminal charge represents an accusation. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
DUI
On Oct. 6, about 7:56 p.m., Lynda L. Hallenborg, 65, of Glenview, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Glenview Rd. and charged with DUI, improper lane usage and driving without lights when required, according to police. She posted $1,000 bond, and has a Nov. 5 court date.

Riding Revoked
On Oct. 7, at 11:05 a.m., Lloyd Rodriguez, 36, of Glenview was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Glenview Rd., according to police. He posted $1,500 bond and is set for a Nov. 25 court date.

DUI, Speeding and More
On Oct. 9, at 1:06 a.m., Thomas J. Bauman, 49 of Aurora, was arrested in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Ave., and charged with DUI, speeding, improper lane usage, failure to yield and operating an driving without insurance. He posted $1,000 bond, and has a Nov. 5 court date.
Cleaned Out
On Oct. 2, at 6:20 p.m., a resident in the 2700 block of Independence Ave. reported that an unidentified offender stole a purse and its contents from a laundry room between 10 a.m. on Sept. 30 and 4 p.m. the day of the report, police said. Reported losses are $3,615, according to police.
Theft Express
On Oct. 3, police say a postal worker reported theft of mail in the 1300 block of Woodview Ln. A witness said the unidentified suspect is a boy aged 11-14 who fled after he was spotted opening packages at the worker’s postal truck, according to police. The suspect reportedly had a pierced ear, and was wearing a dark gray shirt, blue basketball shorts and a black book bag, police said. Eight pieces of damaged mail were recovered from the scene, and the reported loss from the crime is $100, police said.
T.V. Takeover
On Oct. 4, at 7:15 a.m., a Des Plaines resident reported seeing unknown offenders steal two televisions from a business in the 4500 block of West Lake Ave., according to police. Police said the reported loss is $1,200.
Car stolen from in front of Residence, in Broad Daylight
On Oct. 6, a resident in the 1700 block of Grove St. reported at 1:41 p.m. that his vehicle, valued at $13,000, was stolen from in front of his home, according to police.
Cutting it Close
On Oct. 7, at 4:09 p.m. a man who lives in the 500 block of Huber Ln. reported that an unknown suspect had cut his telephone and generator wires and removed a ventilation cover in what police are now calling a case of attempted robbery.
