Two Pass Out in Glenview Business, Refuse to Leave

In a separate incident, a home had a repeat egging.

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Disorderly Conduct

An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Ave. reported two males passed out in the store at 6 a.m. May 29. The males initially did not want to leave but eventually complied. No complaints were signed.

A complainant reported the last few days they have seen a suspicious blue minivan driving through the parking lot for the businesses located in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Rd. On May 29, the van stopped and the driver made an inappropriate remark to the complainant. The vehicle was a blue minivan possibly a Honda.

A resident reported a male subject with an accent called and stated he was with the IRS Tax Audit Department. The man told the resident he needed to pay money owed on taxes or they would be arrested for bank fraud. The resident did not pay and did not give any personal information to the caller.

Suspicious Incident

A resident related they received a postcard indicating they won a $100 Target or Walmart gift card and to call a number to claim their prize. The resident called the number and provided the representative their credit card information. Later they thought this incident might be a scam and closed their credit card account.

Retail Theft

Officers were sent to a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive for a Retail Theft in progress at 4:30 p.m. May 30. An employee of the business reported seeing a 25- to 30-year-old woman and man take several items of merchandise and leave the store without paying. The employee confronted the offenders in the parking lot. The woman removed a pair of stolen pants she was wearing and fled. The male fled on foot in another direction. Store security and police officers were unable to locate the offenders in the area.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A resident of the 1500 block of Independence Ave., related that sometime overnight May 30, someone egged their vehicle when it was parked at their residence. This is the second occurrence.

Criminal Defacement

A resident of the 500 block of Michael Manor reported that sometime overnight May 30 someone spray painted windows and screens on the front of their home.

Criminal Defacement of Property

An employee of the Glenview Park District reported sometime overnight May 31 someone spray painted obscene pictures and words on the field house and sidewalk at Sleepy Hollow Park. The estimated cost of removal is $160.

Criminal Defacement

A resident of the 2500 block of Fielding Dr. reported sometime overnight June 1 someone wrote on the sidewalk in front of their home with a black marker.
