The Village’s investigation into an employee charged last week with DUI is complete.
Glenview officials say after a thorough investigation into the Dec. 12 incident, Joseph Kenney, the director of capital projects and inspection services, remains employed with the village.
According to the village’s policy, they used an independent counsel, who worked with Glenview’s human resources director, to perform an internal investigation, said Don Owen, deputy village manager.
Village Manager Todd Hileman reviewed the investigation and Kenney remains employed by Glenview, Owen said.
One of the factors looked at was whether Kenney was driving village property during the incident, which he was not, Owen said.
During the incident, Glenview Police charged Kenney, 36, of Deerfield, with DUI and improper lane usage after being pulled over in the early morning.
Kenney still faces the charges against him, but there will be no further comment on the incident “out of respect for Mr. Kenney’s privacy and due process rights,” village officials said.
He has a court date of Jan. 18.
