Dold Hosts Congressional Arts Competition for Area High School Students
The winning entry will be displayed in the tunnel connecting the Capitol with the Cannon House Office Building.
High school artists living in Glenview have an opportunity to have their work displayed in the United States Capitol by entering the 29th annual Artistic Discovery Contest sponsored by the United States House of Representatives.
Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) invites all high school students living in the Tenth Congressional District to submit their work according to a release from Dold’s office.
The winning entry from the area will be displayed in the tunnel connecting the Capitol with the Cannon House Office Building along with winning projects from the nation’s other 435 congressional districts.
The art work can be a painting, drawing, collage, print, mixed media, computer generated art or photography project, according to the release. The entry should be no larger than 32” x 32” including the frame, with a depth of no more than four inches.
The local winner will also receive a pair of round trip airline tickets to Washington, D.C., to attend the awards ceremony with other students from around the country. All participants will be invited to attend a reception at 11 a.m. May 7 in Dold’s Northbrook office when the winner will be announced.
Entries must be submitted by April 29 to Dold’s office, 650 Dundee Road, Suite 380, Northbrook.
