Glenview Construction Update

With a busy year for Glenview road construction coming to a close, Glenview Patch gives you a look at major projects in the area.

As 2010 winds down, road crews are entering the last leg of construction projects for the year. Both village and nonvillage projects are numerous, and a few will continue into 2011.

This year, Glenview capital improvement projects included nearly 20 road construction and related projects, an increase from last year's 15, according to Russell Jensen, village engineer.

"I think we're doing remarkably well," Jensen said. "A lot of municipalities are not as fortunate as Glenview this year to have as much work as we have. We're doing more work than we typically do and I would say 90 percent of the communities in the Chicagoland area are doing less than they normally do. We are definitely the exception, there's no question about it."

Jensen said multiple factors contributed to 2010's increased number of projects including federal stimulus and grant money.

Here, check out updates for some of Glenview's largest constructions projects.
