Glenview Received 170 Flood-Related Calls

Glenview officials say the village received about 170 flood-related calls, 50 of which were about basements flooding during Wednesday’s rainstorm, Chicago Tribune reported.

Glenview Public Works Director Jerry Burke said he was surprised at the proximity of the storm to the one in April, “it’s unusual to have so much rain in such a short period of time,” and that the village typically experienced only one big rain storm for the whole season, the newspaper reported.

The village said in an email that 4 inches of rain had fallen between 4 and 11 a.m. This has caused road closures and more than 100 power outages.
