Grandpa’s Place Heading for Expansion

Classic Glenview sports bar and grill  got the green light Tuesday night for expansion plans that will include additional second floor seating, a lower bar, an elevator and a rooftop deck, Glenview Announcements reports.

Glenview’s Plan Commission unanimously approved expansion of the 1868 Prairie St. property, and final approval could be granted as early as next week’s May 22 Village Board meeting, the article said.

Owners hope to complete the work by winter 2013, but the project’s start date relies on when permits are granted, the article explained. Originally, the expansion was presented as a larger project, but after neighborhood residents voiced concerns regarding parking and noise, the project was slimmed down.
