Public Works Responds To Winter Storm

Glenview's Public Works director talks about the department's snow removal strategy.

The Village of Glenview provided the following message from Jerry Burke, Public Works Director, regarding the department's snow removal strategy.

Public Works crews are working in two shifts. The duty crews salted the main arterial roadways early this morning and have just completed plowing and salting them again [around 3:00 p.m.]. All of the Village's contractors have been called in, and they and Village crews will begin plowing and salting the residential streets.

The snowfall is supposed to continue at the current rate until 6-8 p.m. We should expect snow showers until noon Wednesday, with 1-2 inches of additional snowfall.

The Public Works crew shift will change at 11 p.m., at which time the Village plans to begin sidewalk plowing and residential sections clean-up.
