D34 Finance Committee: $4M Needed to Balance Budget

The Citizens Finance Advisory Committee will present its report to the Board of Education tonight.

Glenview’s will need at least and reach a balanced budget by 2016, according to the Citizens Finance Advisory Committee, scheduled to present to the Board of Education tonight.

The committee, comprised of parents and school officials, will present two potential courses of action—one assuming the most likely conditions and the other, a worst-case financial scenario.

“That gap could be filled through either increased revenue or decreased expenditures,” District spokesman Brett Clark told TribLocal earlier this week.

Next, officials will reach out to the community for feedback, scheduled for presentation to the Board Feb. 27. And, the budgeting process will come to a close when a final recommendation is made to the Board March 5, with a final vote by officials on March 19.
