Professor Arthur I. Cyr, Carthage College’s A.W. and Mary Margaret Clausen Distinguished Professor of Political Economy, will delve into Asian economic developments at a time when the region is steadily becoming more important to United States foreign policy.

Since 1985, our trade volume with this vast region has been greater than with Europe, with that differential steadily growing—along with concerns about China’s aggressive military buildup and purchase of U.S. debt, North Korea’s nuclear ambitions and Japan’s economic stability.
