Glenbrook South Earns Playoff Consideration After Friday Night Win

The Titans finished the game with a 35-25 win over Niles West.

Despite a crucial rally late in Friday night's game, Glenbrook South still won 35-25 with the help of junior Brett Laurie's three touchdowns, the Niles Herald-Spectator reports.

“We didn’t finish quite the way we wanted to, but we’re in the playoffs,” Glenbrook South coach Mike Noll told the Herald-Spectator. “I thought we blocked better tonight, our line has been getting better, Laurie has been getting better at tailback. That’s good. We need to do that, it gives us balance.”

One of the game's most impressive plays was a fake punt from Niles West that the Titans stifled early in the second quarter, CSL Insider reports

"We knew that specific formation was a fake punt. They ran it against us last year," GBS junior defensive lineman Sam Koloms told the CSL Insider. "Our coach was yelling, ‘Fake left. Fake left,’ the whole time so our whole defense just shifted and we stuffed them. It was a good feeling."
