Distinguished alumnus to speak

Glenbrook South High School recently named William Tobey its 2012 Distinguished Alumnus. A graduate of the class of 1977, he will be the featured guest speaker at Sunday’s graduation ceremony.

Tobey is a senior fellow at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs in Cambridge, Mass. He teaches at the John F. Kennedy School of Government and writes about preventing the spread of nuclear weapons and their use by terrorists. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School.

“I am honored and pleased to be named a distinguished alumnus, and even more so to speak at Glenbrook South's graduation,” Tobey shared. “Three generations of my family have graduated from the school, and we all owe much to the teachers who gave us such a fine education.”
