The Glenview Police Department got a call Friday morning about a possible weapon sighting near West Lake Ave. and Milwaukee Ave., according to a Village of Glenview press release.

Police advised Glenbrook South officials to keep students on campus during lunch periods as a safety precaution and to prevent traffic congestion in the area while the report was investigated, the release says. No formal lock down order was made, and the situation wasn't considered a danger to the school or surrounding community.

Glenview police completed the investigation by 11:30 a.m., determining the initial report appeared unfounded, and open lunch privileges were returned to GBS students, according to the release.
