Glenbrook South Titans Sports Scoreboard

Girls basketball won its sixth straight game while Nora Landri continued her dominance in girls gymnastics.

 

Girls Basketball: Glenbrook South improved to 9-1 on the season by edging Niles North in a Central Suburban League crossover game on Tuesday night. The Titans rallied from a 37-28 deficit in the third quarter, escaping with a 46-42 victory for the Titans’ sixth straight victory.

Molly McDonagh led the Titans with 20 points in the win while Amelia Hummel had nine points for Glenbrook South.

Glenbrook South’s only loss of the season came to Wheaton-Warrenville South in Schaumburg’s Thanksgiving Tournament and the Titans remain at the top of the CSL South standings with an undefeated record.

Girls Gymnastics: Niles West edged Glenbrook South 132.95 – 132.40 on Tuesday, but the Titans’ Nora Landri was once again the dual match’s big star. Landri compiled the top marks in all four events and won the all-around competition with a cumulative score of 37.05. Landri topped 9.0 in every event, and had her highest mark in with a 9.55 in the uneven bars.

Pauline Zielinski finished fourth in the all-around (32.40). Landri is in the running for Patch’s Athlete of the Week and you can vote for her .

Boys Basketball: With two starters out, Glenbrook South suffered a lopsided 71-47 loss to New Trier on Dec 8. Leading scorer Jamie Nikitas and starting forward Matt Siegel missed the game with injuries, but Trey Dahiya filled in to lead Glenbrook South with 11 points. Justin Busiel had nine in the game.

Glenbrook South continues conference play with a matchup against Maine South on Dec. 16 and then play in Hinsdale South’s Christmas tournament starting on Dec. 27.
