Glenbrook South Titans Sports Scoreboard

Girls basketball won two conference games, while ladies gymnastics barely lost in a dual meet.

 

Girls Basketball: The Titans went 2-0 in the past week, getting two CSL South (Central Suburban League) victories over Evanston and Waukegan.

Glenbrook South shut down Evanston on the road and came away with a 42-27 victory, for the team's first conference win. Abby Keller and Lindsay Oldshue each had 12 points for South.

The Titans then disposed of Waukegan on Tuesday, defeating the Bulldogs 57-42 on the road. Colleen McDonagh led the Titans with 15 points against the Bulldogs, while Oldshue had 12.

South improved to 7-1 on the season and hosts New Trier on Dec. 9, in another pivotal CSL South matchup.

Girls Gymnastics: The Titans were edged by Maine South, 129.6 – 128.5, in Tuesday’s dual meet. Nora Landri won the all-around competition by posting a 36.90 score. Landri achieved a score of 9.0 or better in all four events.

Pauline Zielinski was third in the all-around with a 32.20, including an 8.7 on the balance beam.

Boys Basketball: South went 1-1 during the past week, defeating Maine West at home before losing to Waukegan on Tuesday. Jamie Nikitas scored 25 points in Glenbrook South’s 61-49 win over the Warriors.

However, the Titans lost yet another close game, falling short in its Central Suburban League South opener, 52-49 to Waukegan. The Bulldogs hit a three-pointer with 3.8 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter for the win.

South led 30-26 at halftime, but couldn’t close in the second half. Jamie Nikitas again led the Titans with 15 points in the ball game. Victor Levi chipped in with 12.

The Titans are now 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the CSL conference.
