Glenbook South Students Lend a Hand to Local War Veteran

More than 40 volunteers from the school's Interact Club, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, recently pitched in with home improvement projects for a Korean War veteran.

More than 40 student and teacher volunteers from Glenbrook South’s Interact Club recently came together to help a 84-year-old Korean War veteran with some needed home improvements.

Over a two-day period, the group repainted, landscaped and installed new light fixtures around the Arlington Heights home.

GBS Interact Club partnered with Habitat for Humanity for the renovations. The volunteer effort was also part of the club’s annual Paint-a-thon event.

Interact is open to juniors and seniors who are interested in public service projects and helping those in need.
