Glenview Resident’s Petition for District 34 Ruled Invalid

The Electoral Board for Glenview Public School District 34 removed Glenn Farkas from running for school trustee in April.

Glenview Public School District 34 recently voted to remove Glenview resident Glenn Farkas, 44, from running for school trustee in April citing Farkas’ petition documents were not fastened together under state law, Glenview Announcements reported.

Farkas told Chicago Tribune that he plans to run as a write-in candidate and contends that his 11-page petition was secured with a paper clip when he submitted it.

This is not the first time the 10-year Glenview resident has run for public office. In the fall of 2012, Farkas ran against Democrat Daniel Biss for a seat in the 9th State Senate District. He lost.

You have to be kidding. Get rid of the caucus system, it's a sham.

Somehow I think there is more to the story than paperclips, binders nd staples. The school board doesn't want farkas so what are they hiding???

If you get the Glenview Lantern, you'll see (in the Feb. 6th edition) that there is a LOT more to this than is discussed in the article above! Even with the Lantern article, we probably don't have the full story, but to me it's pretty evident that the current School Board used some pretty disgusting tactics to make sure they ran unopposed in this April's election - especially the tactics to "eliminate" Glenn Farkas. I don't have any kids in school so I don't typically keep track of (or know) any School Board members, but this is such a low blow to honesty and fair play that I'll probably ONLY vote for Glenn Farkas come April 9th. Farkas is running as a write in candidate for the School Board.
