PHOTOS: District 34 Elementary Students Discover Foreign Culture During International Night

Nations the world over were represented at the Lyon and Pleasant Ridge 6th Annual International Night.

On Friday, Oct. 26, District 34 schools Lyon and Pleasant Ridge hosted their 6th Annual International Night.

Students and families discovered the cultures of Afrika, Germany/Austria, Greece, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Pakistan/India, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine, through the various countries' food, music and clothing.

Volunteers from Glenbrook South Interact helped the elementary students make foreign crafts. Performers, including a flamenco dancer, Sheila Tully Irish Dancers, GBS Desi Indian dancers and taekwondo martial arts master and students, all exhibited their culture through music, dance and movement.
