VIDEO: Titans Roll Past Niles West, Look To Showdown with Maine South

Glenbrook South stayed undefeated in the CSL South, setting up a title match with Maine South this weekend.

Breaking it Down: After a nine-day layoff between games, Glenbrook South looked anything but rusty in a 42-0 win over Niles West.

Glenbrook South established its running game early with Kevin Schroeder, Alex Leet and Billy Pappas. And with strong wind gusts, the Titans were more than content to keep things on the ground. Glenbrook South’s big offensive line opened up big holes throughout the contest. QB Mac Zabriskie was efficient and threw for two touchdowns on the day.

Once again the Wolves were hurt by turnovers in key spots. After putting together a 13-play drive that saw Niles West get near the Glenbrook South red zone, the Wolves fumbled a pitch and Glenbrook South recovered. Niles West also fumbled a short kickoff midway through the third quarter that led to Glenbrook South’s last touchdown.

Niles West has been trying to find ways all season to get junior RB Jeremiah Jordan involved. On several occasions the Wolves had Jordan and Jake Glotzer taking snaps out the wildcat formation. But Glenbrook South’s defense didn’t give much room to run.

The Titans went up 42-0 on Leet’s second touchdown late in the third quarter, starting the running the clock for the entire fourth quarter.
