GBS Boys' Volleyball Finish Fourth In State

The Glenbrook South Titans lost to Lincoln-Way North and St. Charles North on Saturday.

Despite a quarterfinal win over Payton High School on Friday, Glenbrook South boys' volleyball couldn't best Lincoln-Way North or St. Charles North at the state championship on Satuday, the Glenview Announcements reports.

The Titans gave up an early lead in the first game against Lincoln-Way, finishing 25-23. While they managed to make a much needed comeback to finish game two 22-25, the Titans couldn't last in the third and finished 25-23, according to the Glenview Announcements.

"In spite of what happened today, I’m really proud of the effort these guys gave,” GBS coach Tim Monahan told CSL Insider. “We have a heck of a group of guys. I’ll take a fourth place finish at state without question.”

GBS earned the fourth place medal after losing during the third place match in two games to St. Charles North, 25-20, 25-20, CSL Insider reports.
