Third in state Class 4A playoffs
2010 record: 5-3
Glenbrook South's girls volleyball team made history last year. A third place finish in a Class 4A playoffs was the furthest they had ever gone. The Titans lost to eventual state champions, Cary-Grove (set scores: 19-25, 25-17, 27-25). They won the third-place game against Quincy.
Like many of last year's state qualifiers, Glenbrook South lost quite a bit of talent, Division I talent to be specific. The team lost a pair of D-I players in middle hitter Emani Sims (Miami, FL) and setter Colleen Brennan (Columbia). Glenbrook South does return one D-I signee in senior outside hitter Ellen Chapman (Wisconsin). However, the Titans return just one other starter: senior outside hitter Jessica Campobasso.

Head Coach Katie Hoover expects big things again from Chapman. "Ellen is as strong as she ever was," Hoover said. "I'm impressed by how high she gets over a set. She also has been working on her jump serve."
After beginning the season 1-3, the Titans have won four consecutive matches including a win over cross town rival Glenbrook North on Sept. 7.
