Glenbrook South Dominates Maine East, 63-12

Titans score on their first nine offensive possessions in a route to open conference play.

opened up Central Suburban League South conference play Friday night as they hosted Maine East. The Demons were 0-3 coming into the game and lost their last two games by a combined score of 79-0. were expected to win handily and faced little resistance en route to a dominating 63-12 win.

"We played a complete football game," Glenbrook South head coach Mike Noll said. "Our defense played very well and we executed well offensively."

The defense certainly set the tone early and often. Nick Greco intercepted a George Zakharia pass on Glenbrook South's first defensive series. Maine East did not record its first 1st down until early second quarter.

The Titans offense was as efficient as it could possibly be, scoring on their first nine possessions. The lone possession GBS did not score was because they kneeled the ball to end the game.

Running back Kevin Schroeder scored five touchdowns, four of them coming on runs and the other coming on a 45 yard touchdown reception from Mac Zabriskie.

Ose Ilenikhena provided the big plays for the Glenbrook South offense. He scored on: 50, 71 and 14 yard touchdown runs. Reserve full back Grant Paterakos scored the remaining Titan touchdown.

"A bunch of players got involved offensively," Noll said. "I was really happy to see us run the ball that well. We'll need to continue that as the season goes on."

Glenbrook South improved its record to 3-1 while Maine South dropped to 0-3. The Titans next test will come Sept. 23 at Evanston. Last year, .
