PHOTOS: North Shore United Way Honors Supporters, Celebrates Achievement

North Shore United Way (NSUW)--a local, independent United Way chapter and a member of the larger United Way of Metropolitan Chicago-- honored the organization's biggest supporters while taking a look into the future at its 2011 Annual Celebration Luncheon June 15 at in Glenview.
Representatives from several of NSUW's largest corporate supporters were on hand, including Tenneco, CVS Caremark and Northbrook Bank & Trust, as well as representatives from partner organizations and government officials including Rep. Daniel Biss.
Board President Marla Glabe thanked those in attendance. "I want to thank all of you who are here today for what you have done for the community because you really make a difference," she said.

Vice President of Community Investment for United Way of Metropolitan Chicago Elizabeth Graettinger Cole laid out NSUW's "Live United 2020" vision, an effort to focus resources to fight poverty in communities with the greatest needs by tackling issues in the areas of health, education and income.
"We plan to wrap children and families with all the things that they need to encourage academice encouragement, stable families and parental involvement so that kids can really thrive," she said.
