Glenview Ice Center Winter Carnival Begins Friday

Catch the Glenview Ice Center's Winter Carnival
Friday, Dec. 20, through Sunday, Jan. 5., at the Glenview Ice Center, 1851 Landwehr Rd., Glenview
The Glenview Ice Center hosts its 13th annual winter carnival over the two-week winter school break, with daily family public skate sessions, a charity hockey game, hockey and figure skating lessons and more. The carnival kicks off with a an exhibition by figure skating students and synchronized skating teams from 5 to 8 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 20. Follow this link for a complete schedule of events.

5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at The Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave., Wilmette
The Wilmette Theatre screens this holiday classic as part of a free family film festival. Pick up free passes during business hours at the theatre, since seating is limited. The theatre will also screen It's a Wonderful Life at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, and A Christmas Story at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23.

Enjoy 'A Toy-Ful Celebration Holiday Concert'
7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm St., Glenview
The Toys Choir and Glenview Concert Band perform a free concert of holiday music. Guests are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign.

Take the Kids to Amahl and the Night Visitors
3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Ave., Winnetka
This holiday classic combines singing, acting, dancing and a live orchestra and features local talent and professional singers. Tickets available online.

Watch White Christmas at the Glenview Library
2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Glenview Public Library, 1930 Glenview Rd., Glenview
Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen sing and dance in this holiday classic, screening for free at the library. Light refreshments will be served
