See Model Trains, Visit a 'Christmas Wonderland' Fair in Glenview This Weekend

See model trains at the library, check out two holiday fairs or sport your ugliest Christmas sweater for a Ugly Sweater Walk.

Take a Free Yoga Class at Samadhi 
8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Samadhi, 1312 Waukegan Rd.
Teacher Kathy O'Malley offers a free Level I class this Saturday, Dec. 7, and next Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8 to 9:15 a.m. O'Malley will also be displaying her artwork in the studio throughout the month of December.

Check Out Model Trains at the Library
9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and 1 - 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Glenview Public Library, 1930 Glenview Rd.
For the train-lover in your family, the North Shore & Western Model Railroad Club fills the library's community room with model railroads.

Feed the Hungry, Take Home a Ceramic Bowl
10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Oakton Community College, 1600 East Golf Rd., Des Plaines
Donate $14 for a meal of soup and bread and a handmade bowl to keep during the Ceramic Club's annual fundraiser for Empty Bowls. The nonprofit supports food banks, soup kitchens and other meal program through fundraisers that remind donors "someone's bowl is always empty." Participants will be entered into a raffle for ceramics and other art works. 

Visit the "Christmas Wonderland" Holiday Faire
10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Rd.
Find crafts from local artisans, enjoy a homemade Greek luncheon and sample homemade treats and coffee. Don't miss Santa's visit, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. $2 general admission; free for children and students.

Wear an Ugly Christmas Sweater
8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Regina Dominican, 701 Locust Rd., Wilmette
An 8 a.m. mass at Regina Dominican will be followed by a 2.5K walk at 9 a.m. throughout Wilmette. Walkers are encouraged to wear their most festive and outlandish Christmas attire; admission is a non-perishable food item. 

Bring the Family to 'Rockin Around the Christmas Tree'
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, at Northfield Community Church, 400 Wagner Rd.
Northfield Community Church will set up stations where attendees can make ornaments and jewelry, decorate cookies, sing Christmas carols, listen to stories and watch model trains. Free admission and lunch; donations of mittens, gloves, socks, hats and scarves will be accepted to share with the Night Ministry, which serves homeless people in Chicago.
