Celebrate Halloween with a pet parade, zombie run and kids film festival this Sunday, Oct. 27, in the Glen.
The Glenview Giving Foundation hosts the "Heart of Glenview Halloween Festival" for the first time this year in Glen Town Center Navy Park. Proceeds benefit several different organizations, including Sister Paulanne's Needy Family Fund, the Perk Center, Helping Hands and Wesley Child Care.
Festivities begin with a costumed pet parade at 2 p.m. emceed by humorist Stuart Jacobson. Prizes will be given out for the best costumes.
Next up is a 1 mile run/walk, 5K run and zombie run at 4 p.m. Organizers will do hair and makeup for the first 100 people who sign up for the zombie run.
The kids Halloween film festival starts at 3 p.m. and includes multiple Halloween films and new releases and a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
