Community celebrates Fourth of July, Glenview style.
Glenview residents commemorated the Fourth of July Wednesday, braving 100 degree temperatures to celebrate their country's Independence Day. The 47th annual Park District-sponsored parade, which featured more than 80 groups marching, dancing, playing, and waving their way through town, began at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and made its way down Harlem Avenue before coming to an end at Johns Park. Many sponsors help to make the parade possible, among them: The Abington of Glenview, which sponsored the bike parade held just before the main attraction, Astellas USA Foundation, Farmers Insurance - Jurczak Insurance Agency, Glenview State Bank, Illinois Tool Works Inc., Piper Jaffray & Co., and The Glen Town Center.
