Tickets are running out to next week's benefit for the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
There's only six tickets left for the Glamour and Gourmet Girls Night Out at Willow Festival next Tuesday. Andreas Hogue Salon and Northbrook's Whole Foods are sponsoring a benefit for the Alliance for the Great Lakes from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on April 30. The event begins at Whole Foods' party room with a variety of gourmet food and wine. Then the Andreas Hogue Salon will offer coffee, dessert and mini salon services — an Aveda hand massage/paraffin dip, mini manicure or a Mirabella "Just Eyes" makeover. Guests will get one salon service with a $30 event ticket, or all three services with a $50 ticket. What do people looking for a new post-winter, pre-spring hair style do when it seems there are just as many sunny days as there are blizzards? According to Andreas Hogue, owner of the namesake salon in the Willow Festival shopping center, people might want to wait a bit longer before bringing back the highlights. "People just got all their holiday hair done," Hogue said. "Now is a fun time to start experimenting." The salon at the Willow Festival Shopping Center in Northbrook will be collecting toys from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Andreas Hogue Salon is partnering with Toys for Tots to collect new, unwrapped toys and books on Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Willow Festival Shopping Center, 840 Willow Rd., next to Whole Foods in Northbrook. The marine will be stationed at the salon collecting the gifts fro 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The salon asks guests and the public to bring a donation for either boys or girls ages 0 - 13. A fundraiser for the Glenview Giving Foundation brought out 84 models for a unique runway show featuring items from local boutiques.
The Glenview Giving Foundation and Northbrook's Andreas Hogue Salon presented a fall fashion show Monday entitled Fashion, Film, and Fun at the Glen 10 Regal Movie theatre in Glenview's Glen Town Center. The Chicago-based production company Benjamin Cottrell Designs along with Darlene Burnham, an Andreas Hogue stylist and Paul Mitchell educator, arranged the event on behalf of the Foundation. The Glenview Giving Foundation has done fundraisers in the past, but this is its first fashion show. The foundation's founder, Chris Krueger, is a dentist in Glenview and "idea man" for the event.
