Chicago Lighthouse Coming to Glenview

Century old social service organization serving visually impaired and blind to open Dec. 10.

The Chicago Lighthouse, a 105-year-old social service organization for the blind and visually impaired, will open its first satellite location in Glenview with a dedication from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at 222 Waukegan Road.  The Village Board unanimously approved the final site plan for the project at its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday.  “We welcome them and look forward to them being part of Glenview,” Village President Kerry Cummings said after the meeting. “They have an important mission in our community.”  Lighthouse Director of Operations Kevin Kupritz anticipates serving more than 28,000 people at the facility.
