VIDEO: Maple Students Make Principals Eat Their Words, Take Pie in the Face

The challenge was simple: Read!

Principal Dr. Nate Carter and Assistant Principal Chris Brown were in for a big, sloppy mess Nov. 11 at Maple Middle School, 2370 Shermer Road. Administrators at the District 30 elementary school gave their students a challenge: If they read more than 100,000 minutes in two weeks, they'd get to throw pies at their principal and assistant principal in the school's lunchroom.  Maple middle-schoolers exceeded their 100,000-minute goal and read a whopping 127,069 total pages. Three students from each grade were chosen at random to pie their principals with assorted flavors of the sweet treats.  Watch the video and check out our gallery below to see the pie fly.
