Skokie is known for its diversity and culture, making it an excellent destination to try something different with that special someone.

Date Night Destinations: Morton Grove

Plan an evening for two with these local recommendations.

Dinner Tava – Recently opened in Morton Grove, this restaurant offers traditional Indian dishes, signature cocktails and a warm ambiance. The menu also has some novel offerings like the Chilean sea bass nirvana, which is cooked with coconut, tomato cream sauce, ginger and garlic. None of the ingredients are ever frozen, and the restaurant uses all heart-healthy cooking oils. There’s also a special menu of entirely organic versions of dishes including chicken curry and roti. Date Night Destinations: Highland Park

Local dining spots to start the weekend right.

Second Street Bistro Stashs owner Bobby Dubin has jumped on two foodie trends with his new restaurant, Second Street Bistro: organic, locally produced food and BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze). He's hoping both will make the bistro, which recently opened, a big hit in Highland Park and along the North Shore. The food, described as "upscale American with a twist," includes dishes like shaved organic brussels sprouts, slow cooked beef short rib, herb marinated amish chicken and gluten-free quinoa spaghetti. The food is made with local and organic ingredients, whenever possible. Cafe Central At the Zagat-rated Cafe Central, you might as well be in Paris' Opera district or at La Bastille.
