Dold, Biss Explain Legislation to Glenview Chamber

Chamber of Commerce hears how things work, or don’t, in Springfield and Washington.

Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) and state Rep. Daniel Biss (D-Evanston) demonstrated to more than 50 members of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce the similarity to legislating at the state and federal level Monday in Northbrook. They also realize partisan politics will keep enlarging the fiscal hole unless both sides start to do things differently. Earlier: Dold Shares Ideas to Help Economy Biss proposes concentration on long term solutions while Dold wants to focus on areas of agreement between Democrats and Republicans to make progress. He recognizes in an election year this is harder to do. “Everything will be put through a political lens and that …

Children also had the chance to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus. "It's the Chamber's way of giving back to the community," said Treasurer and event Chairman Jerry …
