New Grocery Store Slated For Downtown Glenview

Village officials approved a 10-year lease for a new Heinen's grocery store on the former Dominick's site.

Downtown Glenview is expected to have a new grocery store in place by June 2014. Village trustees last week unanimously approved a 10-year lease for a new Heinen’s grocery store on the former Dominick’s site at 1020 Waukegan Road. Village officials say the addition of Heinen’s on the three-acre parcel will be great for downtown redevelopment in Glenview. “We’ve waited a long time for something to happen on this site,” said Glenview Village President Kerry Cummings. “We certainly hope this will be a catalyst for redevelopment of the downtown. “Were very excited about this,” she said. I have to disagree with you. I do not think they can all survive. And as sales go down, prices will go up. It will affect all of us. Also don't forget Trader Joes. 7 Grocery Stores?   more ›
