FINAL UPDATE AT 11:22 p.m.: Laura Fine (D-Glenview) has defeated Kyle Frank (R-Skokie) to take the Illinois’ 17th district legislative seat. With 85 of 86 precincts reporting, Fine has 65.5 percent of the vote. “I’m just thrilled," Fine said. "We just worked so hard. At a forum in Evanston last night, Illinois legislative candidates sparred over how to create jobs and reduce corruption, but agreed on one thing: that the state needs a massive budget overhaul. While the Chicago Tribune editorial board writes that Laura Fine and Kyle Frank are "both good candidates," for the 17th District House seat, the board chose Fine over Frank for endorsement.
