Glenview Obituary: Michael Higley, 55

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 14, from, 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 10:45 a.m. in Skokie.

The following obituary was provided by the Donnellan Family Funeral Home. Michael B. Higley, 55, of Glenview, died on Dec. 5, 2012.  Devoted son of the late Robert and Mary Lou Higley, nee Hoehn. Beloved husband of Margaret “Mitty” Higley, nee Uriell; loving father of Patrick, Mark and Elizabeth Higley; dear brother of William (Mary) Higley and the late Susan (Patrick) Kordas; brother-in-law of Tom, Bill (Sherri), Mike Uriell and Mary (John) Mooney; caring uncle of Catherine, Callie, Kathleen, Patricia, Molly, Bobby, Annie, Corey, David, Ben, Kathryn, Sara, and Clair. It’s Éirinn go Brách (Ireland Forever) all over this weekend, as local venues celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Raise your glass and say sláinte at some of these local celebrations. A true Irish pub owned by a true Irishman, Bridie McKenna’s will have its usual array of traditional Irish dishes to pair with an extensive selection of beers and Irish whiskeys. Check out the live music and Irish dancers every Tuesday, and the full slate of performers in honor of St. Patrick today. This local pub opens at 11 a.m. today for traditional Irish food and drink in the tent or the pub.
