The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous winter outlook for much of the Chicago suburbs and predicts between three to five inches of new snow accumulation in Glenview. If you’re heading home, heavy lake effect snow will occur Friday night with accumulations in excess of 6 inches. The Village can expect up to 11 inches of snow before Saturday afternoon
Long gone are 40-degree days! Snow and frigid temps have come to Glenview and according to weather reports, residents can expect between 5-8 inches today, with an additional 1-3 inches overnight. Tollway mobilizing full fleet to prep for storm

"Once the main roadways are clear, work will begin to remove remaining snow from roadway shoulders, ramps and toll plazas across the 286-mile system," the release said. More snow is coming to Glenview overnight.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory for Cook County in effect through 9 a.m. Friday morning. Between 3 and 5 inches of snow is expected to begin falling this evening, according to the NWS. The weather may begin as a mix of rain, snow and sleet before transitioning completely to snow. Because the snow is predicted to fall at a rate of up to 1 inch per hour, the NWS cautions drivers that roads may quickly become treacherous if plows cannot keep up. The heaviest amounts of snow are expected close to midnight. The NWS also cautions drivers that winds of 25 to 30 miles per hour may limit visibility.
