For many, the holiday season is a time of giving and donations. The Marine Toys for Tots foundation, which sets up bins every year, gives people the chance to donate toys to less-fortunate children. The Toys for Tots website has a list of drop-off locations that Patch has compiled into an interactive map. Most locations accept toys until Monday, Dec. 17, but a few businesses will continue collecting toys until later this week. The salon at the Willow Festival Shopping Center in Northbrook will be collecting toys from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Andreas Hogue Salon is partnering with Toys for Tots to collect new, unwrapped toys and books on Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Willow Festival Shopping Center, 840 Willow Rd., next to Whole Foods in Northbrook. The marine will be stationed at the salon collecting the gifts fro 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The salon asks guests and the public to bring a donation for either boys or girls ages 0 - 13. "Every month, we strive to give back," said Andreas Hogue, owner of Andreas Hogue Salon and a Glenview resident. "Our salon makes it our mission to help others, so we are constantly seeking out ways to get involved and better the community."
