Child Reports Stranger Danger

Glenview Police alert community to suspicious incident.

A 10-year-old girl reported that she was approached by two men in an older model dark maroon/red minivan yesterday around 2:45 p.m., according to police. The girl had just been dropped off by her school bus and was walking home in the 600 block of Wagner Road when the vehicle stopped near her and the passenger asked the girl about her family, she told police. Police say the driver is descried as Hispanic, mid-30s and skinny with medium length dark hair and a beard. The van’s passenger is described as a white male, also mid-30s, heavy set, bald and clean-shaven. He is reported to be wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Police Blotter: Wildfire Employee Spots Counterfeit Cash, Stolen Rims at Ford Dealership, House Burglary

Glenview PD reported incidents March 8-15

Theft Employees of Bredemann Ford, 2038 Waukegan Road, reported that someone removed five spare tires with rims, sensors and bands from the undercarriage of five different vans parked in the dealership’s lot between 7:15 a.m. on March 2 and 11:00 a.m. on March 8. Loss is estimated at $2,600. Theft The owner of D/R Services Unlimited, 1951 Johns Drive, reported someone stole a 16-foot Brewer utility trailer from his business sometimes between 7:30 p.m. on March 9 and 6:00 a.m. the next day. Another business vehicle was struck and damaged when the trailer was taken. Loss is estimated at $6,300.   Identity Theft On March 10 at 12:13 p.m., a resident of Bluestem Lane reported that someone used her credit card to purchase tickets from stubhub.…

Glenview PD incident reports Feb 1 – Feb 7

Identity Theft Feb. 1 A resident of the 1900 block of Larkdale Drive learned that an offender used her Chase Bank debit card 16 times since 2009 to purchase water from Ice Mountain Water Company. Fire Investigation Feb. 2 A resident saw an item burning in Cole Park, 1031 Kenilworth Avenue. Once at the scene, officers discovered a Molotov cocktail burning on the snow-covered blacktop. There was no damage to Glenview Park District property. Theft of Service Feb. 3 A taxi driver reported five teenage offenders fled his cab without paying the fare for a ride from Wilmette to Glenayre Drive. Police Blotter: Retail Theft, Revoked, Unlicensed Driving

Retail Theft Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m.  Officers charged Marie L. Martinez, 46, of Wheeling, with retail theft after loss prevention agents at Kohl’s, 2201 Willow Road, recovered $14 worth of stolen merchandise from her. Martinez was released on $1000 D bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 24. Revoked Driving Feb 5 at 6:48 p.m. After a traffic crash investigation in the 4500 block of Willow Road, officers charged Eric Slapak, 29, of Northbrook, with driving while driving privilege revoked, improper turn and no insurance. Slapak was released on $1500 D bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 10. DUI Jan. 23 at 7:20 p.m. After investigating a traffic crash in the 2800 block of Covert Road, officers charged Lukasz A. Wojewoda, 24, of Morton Grove, with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. Wojewoda was released on $1,000 D bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 11.   Jan. 24 at 9:00 p.m. After investigating a traffic crash in the 1600 block of Glenview Road, officers charged Rhonda A.
