$1.85M Glenview Historical Treasure

In Patch's ongoing real estate column, we take a look at a historical property that used to be the whole Canterbury Park neighborhood.

It took two years to build the house at 1300 Oxford Ln. in central Glenview. It was completed in 1938 and "built to last a few hundred years," according to Gayle Stellas, a Coldwell Banker agent representing the property. The original owner, William Kohl, built the home for his wife, their five children and a staff of servants. The property has a servants' wing that feels like something out of Downton Abbey. Kohl had the home for about 40 years until he sold it on a handshake deal with its current owners, who are now selling the property for $1.85 million.
