Car Struck By Amtrak Train Monday Night
No one was injured during the incident, according to Glenview Police.

A 62-year-old woman driving eastbound on Glenview Road Monday night made a wrong turn onto railroad tracks, according to Glenview Police.
The woman, from Washington State, had been following her GPS when she intended to turn right onto Railroad Avenue, Glenview Sgt. Dave Sostak told Patch.

"She didn't realize she turned onto the tracks until she saw the train approaching," Sostak said, "She got out of her car and tried to flag down the conductor, but it was too late."
The accident occurred around 8:25 p.m. last night, delaying two metra trains by 20 and 10 minutes, he added.

A reader notified Glenview Patch about the incident around 10 a.m. Tuesday. The reader said they saw a smashed-in white car on the tracks and a halted Amtrak train.
No one was injured during the incident. The woman received a citation for disobeying train signals, according to Sostak.
